Easy Chicken Caesar Wrap Recipe

cookUpdated 4 min readBy Inspired Dreamer

This chicken caesar wrap is the kind of lunch that actually keeps you full, tastes like something you'd order at a cafe, and takes about 15 minutes start to finish. You get that classic caesar flavor, crispy romaine, salty parmesan, and tender chicken all bundled up in a warm, slightly toasted tortilla. A little indulgent, a little fresh, and completely satisfying. I made a batch of these last Sunday and my family ate every single one before I could photograph them properly.

Tips & Tricks

The biggest tip I can give you: don't overfill. It's tempting to pile in extra chicken and lettuce, but overstuffed wraps split at the seam the moment you try to toast them. Stick to the amounts in the recipe and you'll get a tight, tidy wrap every time.

Use rotisserie chicken. It's already seasoned, already cooked, and shreds beautifully. It cuts your prep down to almost nothing.

Crush the croutons before adding them. Whole croutons make the wrap lumpy and hard to roll. A quick rough crush in your hands or a fast chop on the cutting board gives you all the crunch without the bulk.

Toast the wrap in the skillet even if you're tempted to skip it. Those 2 to 3 minutes of contact heat seal the seam so the wrap holds together when you slice it, and the slight crunch on the outside takes it from good to really good.

Variations

Grilled chicken version. Season a chicken breast with salt, pepper, and a little olive oil. Grill or pan-sear over medium-high heat for 5 to 6 minutes per side until cooked through and the internal temperature reads 165°F. Slice thin before adding to the wrap.

Spicy caesar wrap. Add a few dashes of hot sauce or a thin layer of sriracha to the tortilla before building the wrap. The heat plays really well against the creamy, tangy caesar dressing.

Vegetarian swap. Replace the chicken with a cup of canned chickpeas, drained and patted dry, then pan-fried with garlic powder and smoked paprika until golden. Hearty, protein-packed, and honestly delicious.

Bacon caesar wrap. Layer in 2 strips of crispy cooked bacon per wrap. That salty, smoky crunch takes the whole thing to another level.

Low-carb option. Swap the flour tortilla for a large collard green leaf or a low-carb tortilla. Skip the croutons and add a tablespoon of sunflower seeds for crunch instead.

Storage & Make Ahead

These wraps are best eaten fresh, right after toasting. The romaine wilts and the tortilla gets a little soggy if they sit too long once assembled.

That said, you can prep everything ahead of time. Store sliced cooked chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep your washed and chopped romaine in a zip-top bag with a paper towel inside to absorb moisture and it'll stay crisp for 3 to 4 days.

When you're ready to eat, toss, build, and toast. The whole thing takes under 5 minutes if everything is prepped. If you need to pack a wrap for lunch, wrap it tightly in foil after toasting and pack the dressing separately in a small container. Dress and assemble right before eating for the best texture.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can prep all the components up to 3 days ahead, but assemble the wraps right before eating. Once dressed with caesar dressing, the romaine wilts quickly and the tortilla softens. For packed lunches, keep the dressing in a separate small container and add it just before eating.

Rotisserie chicken is the easiest and most flavorful option. Leftover grilled or baked chicken breast works great too. Just make sure it's sliced thin or shredded so the wrap rolls up neatly without too much bulk.

Two things make the biggest difference: don't overfill, and always toast the wrap seam-side down in a skillet for a minute or two. The heat seals the seam so it holds together when you slice and eat it.

Yes, ranch dressing is the closest swap and works really well. A light greek yogurt dressing or a lemon tahini sauce are also great if you want something a little lighter. The wrap is flexible, so use whatever dressing you love.
